Марксізм і дарвінізм (пер. з англ. Михайло Дурдела): Вінніпеґ, Українські робітничі вісті, 1920, 43 с.
Короткий опис
Anton Pannekoek's monography Marxism and Darwinism presents a comparative analysis of Charles Darwin's evolutionary theory and Karl Marx's historical materialist approach. The author emphasizes the common idea of development through struggle shared by both concepts, while highlighting the fundamental distinction between biological competition and class struggle. Pannekoek critically examines Herbert Spencer's views, attempts to use Darwinism for legitimizing the capitalist order, and refutes naturalistic justifications of social Darwinism. Drawing on Darwin's works, Pannekoek asserts that mutual aid and solidarity in the animal world contribute to group survival and constitute a natural foundation for social development.
The original was written in English. The Ukrainian translation was published in 1920 by Mykhailo Durdela. The edition includes a preface by the translator.
