The collection examines understudied issues of the history of philosophical thought in Ukraine. For the first time, the philosophical views of the outstanding philosopher of the Kyiv-Mohyla Collegium Kononovych-Gorbatskyi, of the philosopher-enlightener of the beginning of the 19th century P.D. Lodii, the scientist and of the revolutionary democrat M.I. Gulak, of the famous physicist, professor of Kharkiv University Stoikovych, of the great materialist scientist Danylevskyi, of the closest associate of I. Franko — M. Pavlyk.

Such important issues as the propagation of atheistic ideas and the spread of Pavlovian teaching in Ukraine are considered. The criticism of Thomism of modern bourgeois philosophy is presented as well.

The collection shows the role of V. I. Lenin in the struggle for Marxist aesthetics in Ukraine during the period of imperialism.
