Synopsis

The material presented is a manuscript of a logic textbook written by Dmitо Chуzhevskyі in the early 1920s. The author defines logic using the distinction between psychological and logical laws. According to Chizhevsky, the subject of logic is only thoughts (which correspond to logical laws), but not thinking (which is described by psychological laws). The manuscript covers the tasks, norms, laws, and terminology of logic. As the author tries to provide a precise definition of logic, he proposes a classification of logical sciences, which are covered in the respective chapters I, II, III, IV and V. Practical exercises are included at the end of each chapter.

The manuscript does not contain the preface indicated in the table of contents and is based on the notes of lectures given by Czyzhevskyi at the Mykhailo Drahomanov Ukrainian Pedagogical Institute in Prague in the summer semester of 1924.
