Synopsis

The author seeks to highlight the key aspects that characterise Lesya Ukrainka as a revolutionary thinker. According to the author, patriotism, love for the people and workers of the world, and hatred of the oppressors were the main sources of Lesya Ukrainka's revolutionary attitudes and worldview. These traits led to her firmness and consistency in the struggle against exploitation. The author argues that Lesya Ukrainka's views on aesthetics followed the traditions of revolutionary democrats and were close to Marxist aesthetics. He also argues that Lesya Ukrainka adhered to the principles of dialectics and pre-Marxist materialism. The author concludes that Lesya Ukrainka - on a number of issues - went beyond the revolutionary democratic ideology and stood on the positions of revolutionary Marxism.
