Synopsis

The collection covers a wide range of issues in the history of philosophical and sociological thought in Ukraine (from the second half of the eighteenth century to the 1960s). In particular, it examines the struggle between materialism and idealism in the nineteenth century, the development of dialectical and historical materialism, aesthetics and logic in the Soviet period. Special attention is paid to the revolutionary democratic ideology and socialist ideas in Ukraine. The issues of philosophical thought in the Western Ukraine are covered.

The book is intended for teachers, scholars, and students of humanities.
