Synopsis

This publication is based on the materials of the international conference dedicated to the 400th anniversary of the birth of René Descartes "The Legacy of René Descartes in the World of Contemporary Culture", organized by the Ukrainian Philosophical Foundation, the Faculty of humanities of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, the Department of cultural philosophy of the Institute of philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ukrainian scientific journal "Political thought". The publication is the first attempt to generalise the significance of Descartes' philosophical and scientific legacy for European and national culture made by contemporary Ukrainian philosophers.

This collection marks the beginning of the publishing activity of the Ukrainian philosophical foundation.
