Synopsis

The main objective of this study is to uncover the genetic link between Leninism and populism. Blokhin argues that both movements are stages in a unified synthesis of Russian spiritual life. He notes that the defining traits of Bolshevism were inherited from Russian populism, including profound amoralism, the denial of individual development, and the simplification of culture. The author also describes the differences between Russian and Ukrainian populism, clearly distinguishing them.
