To the Problems of the Betrayal of Wisdom: Chicago, Mykola Denysyuk Publishing Company, 1975, 183 p.
Keywords:
Christian philosophy, scientism, Hryhorii Skovoroda, Thomas AquinasSynopsis
In this collection, the author reflects on the status of Christian philosophy in the 20th century and its influence not only on the personal transformation of the individual, but also on the socio-political and religious-ecclesial processes within Ukrainian society. Criticizing the dominant ideologies of the time — Marxism-Leninism and scientism — he proposes viewing Christian philosophy as the only way for the Ukrainian nation to "preserve itself as an active force of its independent existence."
In the chapters of the collection, Oleksiuk consistently supports this position through hermeneutic analysis of the writings of Skovoroda, a historical comparison between Volodymyr the Great and Lenin, and a philosophical overview of the debates between Thomas Aquinas and his opponents — Kant, Hegel, Heidegger, and Suárez.
All translations from German, English, and Latin were carried out by the author himself.
