Lacan's gap In Krytyka, No. 3 (65), 2003, pp. 24-25.
Keywords:
Slavoj Žižek, translations, feminist LacanianismSynopsis
The author of the article draws attention to the absence of direct references to Jacques Lacan's texts in the Ukrainian humanitarian discourse. Instead, Ukrainian intellectuals mostly interpret his ideas indirectly — through the prism of Slavoj Žižek's works. In her opinion, Lacan's original texts remain unpopular for translation due to difficulty of their reading. In addition, the author outlines her own thoughts on the different ways of reception of Lacanian theory, distinguishing two approaches: opportunistic and interpretive interpretation and purist. She concludes that scholars of Lacanian psychoanalysis have yet to find the authentic Lacan.
