The book contains several studies on the eidology and rhetoric of Ukrainian baroque literature, in particular, its fundamental universals, such as «imitation of nature», «image», «text», «concept», as well as the problems of the «golden mean», «transmission of sciences», etc. The phenomenon of the Ukrainian literary baroque is associated with the names of Petro Mohyla, Inokentii Hisel, Lazar Baranovych, Ioanykii Haliatovskyi, Antonii Radyvylovskyi, Teofan Prokopovych, Stefan Yavorskyi, and Dymytrii Rostovskyi. Heorhii Konyskyi, Hryhorii Skovoroda, and others, is interpreted in the context of the development of the European spiritual tradition from the time of the Greco-Roman classics to the end of the XVIII century.
