Synopsis

The article analyzes the consequences of the relationship between the government and the opposition in the political situation in Ukraine after the cassette scandal. The author examines whether the opposition is capable of constructive conflict with the authorities, basing on the following aspects: 1) the presence of a constructive ideology, 2) the presence of public support, and 3) the capacity to organize protest actions.

Eventually, Yevhen Golovakha expresses a warning that the Communist Party may gain a popular advantage under the conditions of political instability caused by the cassette scandal. Finally, the article presents the author's pessimistic vision of Ukraine's political future, where the democratic perspective of Ukrainian society may be lost.
