This article presents a systematic overview of Serhii Proleiev's concepts of skepticism as one of the leading methods of philosophical thinking. The author analyzes contemporary philosophical discourses and reflects on the specifics of human attitudes toward philosophy as such. The article includes a historical and philosophical excursion into the issues of subjectivity, reason, and doubt. According to Proleiev, doubt is a universal epistemic tool of reason that enables reflection, definition, and cognition. The concluding part analyzes the problem of the decline of philosophy in the context of characteristic trends in contemporary philosophical thinking.
