Synopsis

This article is Myroslav Popovych's reaction to the 2002 parliamentary elections in Ukraine. The author analyzes their results, circumstances, and potential consequences for the political process. The central theme of the article is the emphasis on the gradual establishment of positive changes in Ukrainian society, expressed, in particular, in the practice of democratic elections. According to Popovych, the political development of independent Ukraine is proceeding gradually and consistently, despite numerous political and cultural obstacles.
