This article analyzes the similarities in the philosophical views of two thinkers, Viktor Petrov and Michel Foucault. The author compares their philosophical concepts, emphasizing the noticeable similarity of ideas, which can be traced despite the differences in cultural and historical eras, intellectual practices, and life contexts. The central theme is the philosophy of history as a common field of concern for their reflections. At the same time, along with emphasizing the similarities between Petrov and Foucault's approaches, the article also outlines a number of significant differences between their conceptual approaches.
