Response to M. Ilnytskyi's article in the journal «Kyiv» In Ukraiinsky Visnyk, No. 7–10, 1988, pp. 34–39.

The material contains the author's reflections on Mykola Ilnytskyi's article «Dialogue Across Generations», dedicated to comparing the works of Ukrainian poets of the 1960s and 1980s. The text presents the author's vision of the role of literary criticism, the figure of the poet, and the significance of poetry. Particular emphasis is placed on the influence of the repressive nature of the Soviet regime on the creative potential of artists, as well as on the transformation of approaches to poetic creativity during those decades.

The text was written in the Kuchyn special-regime camp and sent by the author to his relatives in the form of a letter in 1986.
