Synopsis

The article contains Volodymyr Verloka's reflections on the phenomenon of the Kyiv worldview-anthropological school, considered in the context of the publication of Vitalii Tabachkovskyi's work In Search of Unlost Time (Kyiv, 2002). The author emphasizes that this intellectual phenomenon represents a wide range of characteristics of Ukrainian intellectual history from the 1960s to the 1990s – from ideological restrictions to anthropological intentions of humanitarian knowledge. Verlok emphasizes that the further development of the worldview-anthropological approach would make it possible to gain a deeper understanding of the phenomenon of “free thinking,” in particular to clarify the conditions for its possibility and to identify the factors of its gradual decline.
