The article is a review of Vitalii Tabachkovskyi's book In Search of Unlost Time: Essays on the Creative Legacy of Ukrainian Philosophers of the 1960s, dedicated to the Kyiv School of Philosophy. Yemets-Dobronosova questions the appropriateness of using the term «school» in relation to the academic philosophical center formed in the 1960s thanks to Volodymyr Shynkaruk. Another critical remark about Tabachkovskyi's work is that, seeing the important humanistic potential in the existential-communicative ideas of the members of the Kyiv philosophical school, he exaggerates the role and representation of these ideas in their works. The author emphasizes the need for Ukrainian philosophy to create and develop new theories and concepts, as opposed to searching for veiled philosophical impulses in the works of the Soviet past, which were forced to be biased in favor of Marxism.
