The article analyzes the phenomenon of intellectualism and the transformation of perceptions regarding the intellectual. Traditional definitions of intellectualism are critically examined, emphasizing the impossibility of reducing them solely to erudition. Liutyi substantiates the thesis of the intellectual as a mediator between reality and the sphere of creative inquiry, one who resists the utilitarian exploitation of knowledge. The study concludes by characterizing the contemporary intellectual as an individual existing in a state of creative uncertainty and prepared for experimentation, rather than simply being knowledgeable.
