Synopsis

The article honors the intellectual legacy of Jean Baudrillard and presents Oleksandr Ivashyna’s interpretation of selected aspects of his philosophical oeuvre. The analysis focuses on several key directions of Baudrillard’s philosophy: first, a critique of the principle of rationality and the culture of spectacle in contemporary society; second, issues of social philosophy, the consumerist worldview, and the production of demand for meanings; third, a reflection on the problem of the authentic in contemporary culture. The article concludes with reflections on the phenomena of hyperreality and simulation, as well as an emphasis on the significance of Baudrillard’s philosophical contribution.
