Synopsis

The text addresses the issue of the institutional shaping of European integration processes, particularly the question of introducing a single constitution for Europe. It emphasizes the fundamental insufficiency of purely economic factors for the formation of a political community in the consciousness of its citizens: only a political act of foundation can provide the weight of symbolic crystallization. In this context, the author substantiates the political viability of the project of a single European constitution and convincingly refutes the existing objections to it.
