Youth and Plast: Lviv, Publishing House of the Ukrainian Plast Association, 1928, 14 p.
Keywords:
political philosophy, nationalism, worldviewSynopsis
The work advocates for the Plast movement as a school of character serving the purpose of raising a new generation — as distinct from a mere approximation of scouting. Dmytro Dontsov emphasizes the necessity of cultivating active and strong-willed youth capable of fighting for the independence of Ukraine. The constitutive power of worldview is examined: the author contrasts the worldview of strong and mighty races with one that is passive and provincial. In conclusion, it is argued that Plast and movements akin to it are centers of the revival of the Ukrainian nation.
