The authors of the article draw on previously unknown documents from the Soviet secret services. Based on these materials, they reconstructed the main stages of the political and scholarly career of Mykhailo Hordiievskyi – a professor of philosophy and pedagogy at Odesa State University. Particular attention is paid to his academic and socio-political activities.
