The article is a review of the Ukrainian translation of Paul Ricœur's lectures "Lectures on Ideology and Utopia". The author provides a brief historical overview of the concept of ideology. Volodymyr Artiukh emphasizes that Ricœur, drawing on Karl Mannheim's opposition between utopia and ideology, clarifies the essential distinction between the two concepts. Utopia has authorship and a revolutionary character, whereas ideology primarily concerns "the Other" and functions in society as a conservative factor.
