Annual "Scientific Papers" of the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR were launched in 1951. The first volume states that they "...will reflect the results of the institute's research works on several problems.
Scientific and theoretical articles on issues of dialectical and historical materialism, on the philosophy of natural science and the history of philosophical and social thought of Ukraine, chapters from monographs, abstracts of dissertations, etc. will be published in "Scientific Papers".
Philosophical cadres of the Ukrainian SSR are involved in the work of "Scientific Papers."
The edition was not published regularly. A total of 7 volumes were published in the period 1951 - 1961.
The responsible editor of the first volume was M. E. Omelyanovsky, the remaining volumes - D. Kh. Ostryanyn
