The article critically analyzes the defense of Petro Ivanyshyn's doctoral dissertation at Lviv University as an example of systemic problems in Ukrainian humanities. The author examines the phenomenon of new ideologization of literary studies ("natsrealism"), which claims a monopoly on defining the "Ukrainian approach" to Ukrainian literature.
