In this article, the author critically examines the introduction of the Bologna system in Ukrainian higher education. She considers its main shortcomings to be a significant increase in the administrative and methodological workload on teachers, the fragmentation of courses into separate modules, which, in her opinion, makes it difficult for students to form a holistic view of the material they have mastered, as well as the abolition of humanities disciplines in technical and engineering programs. The author insists that Ukrainian society should not unconditionally follow European models in its educational policy, as the mechanical reproduction of Western approaches will only deepen the crisis in local education.
