REGISTER OF PUBLISHED UKRAINIAN TRANSLATIONS OF PHILOSOPHICAL WORKS

The philosophical community of Ukraine has long needed a register of translations of philosophical texts into Ukrainian, ever done and published in Ukraine or abroad. On the one hand, such a register would allow for a reasonable assessment and cataloging of what has already been done in the field of translating philosophy into Ukrainian. In addition, such a registry, if properly implemented technically, could become a convenient and functional research infrastructure that would allow for the analysis of relevant data, contributing to translation studies.

Despite some truly heroic attempts to create such a registry over the past decade, none of them led to the full and lasting implementation of the project. Perhaps the most notable of these attempts was the “Translatio philosophica” created by Ilami Jasna. Unfortunately, this project has not been active for many years, and its web pages are inaccessible.

Recognizing the urgency of developing such a registry, the Research and Archival Center “Archivum Sententiarum” with the support of the historico-philosophical journal “Sententiae”, the Community of the historico-philosophical journal “Sententiae” and Vinnytsia National Technical University created a REGISTER OF PUBLISHED UKRAINIAN TRANSLATIONS OF PHILOSOPHICAL WORKS using the infrastructure of the aggregator site “Archivum Sententiarum”.

The register was launched in May 2025. At the time of launch, the register includes 400 items and continues to be updated with new materials.
